Crafted in real silver.
The taweez has always been protective jewelry: a small vessel of intention worn close to the body, carrying within its sealed form a prayer, a verse, a wish held in metal against the skin. Across South Asia, across centuries, the taweez has been tied to children, gifted to the beloved, worn at the throat where the breath begins. It is jewelry that does not merely adorn. It guards.
This necklace strings five such intentions on a single black dori.
Each pendant takes the taweez's essential form, a rectangular body, two rounded tops rising from either side, the silhouette of something that has been carried and kept for a very long time, and works it in vintage silver. Across the base of each pendant, geometric motifs are embossed in patterns that feel architectural and ancient; the kind of surface detail that belongs on both a manuscript margin and a piece of jewelry. The same geometric language marks either side of each pendant: a vocabulary that runs through all five pieces and makes them unmistakably a family.
From the base of each taweez, three clusters of three ghungroos hang: nine bells per pendant. The sound of the ghungroo has always been considered auspicious. Here it is multiplied five times over.
Five pendants. One black dori carrying them all.
Expect natural patina, tonal variations, and subtle imperfections — markers of age, authenticity, and handcrafted beauty.
