The jhaalar and the toran — the festive fringes that adorn doorways at weddings and celebrations — are among Indian craft's most joyful forms. They do not merely decorate a threshold; they announce it. They say: something important is happening here, and the entrance to it deserves to be beautiful.

Bandhanwar brings that announcement to the neckline.

At the centre of the pendant, a pietra dura-inspired kundan floral blooms: pink stone at the heart, green at the centre, the Mughal floral tradition pressed into silver and carried forward by a craft that has never stopped learning from it. Around this centrepiece, pearl puwai — the fine pearl border that is the mark of meticulous setting — frames the floral, while leaf-like elements in green and white extend outward, organic and precise at once.

Below, the cascade begins. Two tiers of triangular shapes in green descend from the pendant, each triangle carrying a pearl hanging at its base — the drape of the toran made jewellery, the fringe that celebrates simply by falling. The pendant does not merely sit at the throat. It unfolds there, the way a doorway decoration unfolds when the breeze catches it, with a sense of occasion that requires no occasion.
