Pietra dura: the Mughal art of inlaying semiprecious stones into marble in floral patterns so precise they seem painted rather than carved, reached its most famous expression on the walls of the Taj Mahal. Flowers that have not wilted in four centuries. Petals that catch different light at different hours of the day. The art of making something natural last forever in something permanent.
This pendant carries that flower in silver.
The form is an inverted oval, wider at the base, narrowing as it rises, a silhouette that feels both contemporary and quietly architectural. At its centre, flowers bloom in embossed relief: the Mughal floral, with its characteristic formal symmetry and its insistence on beauty as precision.
Plain silver surrounds the embossing without competing with it. The black dori carries the pendant to the throat and ends in tassels, a finish as considered as the pendant it frames.
Minimalist in the way that Mughal design, at its most refined, was always minimalist: not less detail, but only the right detail. Nothing more. Nothing less.
The Details:
Metal: 92.5 hallmark pure silver
Pendant: Inverted oval; Mughal pietra dura-inspired floral embossing at centre
