A full hemisphere in 92.5 hallmark silver, the dome is the jhumka's oldest, most essential form, unchanged across centuries. Its surface is worked into vertical lines that run from the crown of the dome downward, like a temple column. And from the base of the dome, suspended at the very centre, a single ghungroo hangs the way a temple bell hangs — with the particular authority of something that does not need company to be heard. When you move, it swings gently, in its own time.
